Towards a Belgian asiofeminism – Sound mapping by Mélanie Cao
Sunday May 22nd
“In a post #metoo and #stopasianhate context, what does an asiofeminist gaze reveal about the public space around us? Based on sound recordings and interviews she conducted with Asian women and gender minorities, Mélanie Cao proposes to develop some themes of a Belgian asiofeminism still in the making and to question the place of women and non-binary people of Asian origin in Belgium. What does it mean to be Asian in the public space? In which places are we represented or invisibilized, from which spaces do we feel excluded?”
