Open Museum Think Tank selected!

01.03.2021

We’re very proud to announce we’ve selected our Open Museum Think Tank. We would like to thank all 150 (!) people who applied to be part of what is bound to be an exciting journey towards more inclusive museums.

These are the 6 people who will join the Think Tank:

  • Vanessa Vovor (she/her)
  • Apolline Vranken (she/her)
  • Nour Outojane (they/she)
  • Ichraf Nasri (she/her)
  • Samuel Hus (he/him)
  • Tilke Wouters (they/them)

They will be joined, on voluntary basis, by Philippe Harmegnies, director of Passe-Muraille and Céline Galopin, cultural mediator (with focus on museums) at Article 27.

As a reminder, the Open Museum Think Tank aims to compose, throughout the year of 2021, a list of recommendations to help museums become more representative and inclusive of the Brussels’ citizens in all their diversity. This is the initial open call they all replied to:

Is fighting against discrimination your professional or personal vocation? Do you like to turn norms upside down? Do you occasionally visit museums, but often feel they only tell part of our (hi)story? Then we need you in our Open Museum Think Tank. Ask the museums in Brussels the right questions and help draft the diversity charter that will put them on the right track.

The first meeting will take place on the 12th of April. We will set up the themes and agenda the museums will then dive into during their co-reflection sessions. We will of course keep you up to date on the progress of both working groups on this page!
